MY BELOVED HOMETOWN

Lampung is my hometown. I love Lampung very much. It always makes me so proud to be its native inhabitants. I always miss it because there are a lot of beautiful memories that can’t be forgotten. It saved much wealth and great views which is dear to be ignored. Everybody will feel the same way when they visit it.

Lampung is one province in Sumatra Island. It has an area 35.587 km2. It located between 103040 105050' East Longitude and 3045' - 6045 ' South Latitude. It is the most southern province that bordered by Bengkulu and South Sumatra in North, Sunda Strait in West, Java Sea in East. Circumstances of natural Lampung in the west and south along the coast, is a hilly area as the connection from Bukit Barisan path in Sumatra Island. In the middle there is lowland. In the east, along the shores of Java Sea, it is the vast waters.
Lampung consists of 11 districts, are District of West Lampung, North Lampung, Central Lampung, East Lampung, South Lampung, Pesawaran, Pringsewu, Tanggamus, Mesuji, Way Kanan, and Tulang Bawang. The capital city of Province Lampung is Bandar Lampung. Not only Bandar Lampung that famous, but, each district has capital city that famous enough for Lampung society.
Lampung has many mountains and rivers, so it can be used as a tourist attraction. The highest mountain is Pesagi Mountain, that tall about 2.262 m. It located in Liwa, South Lampung. Mountains in Lampung is not high as the mountains in the Java Island, but have high difficulty enough to climb it, because it have a high density level as well. The longest river is Way Sekampung, that long about 265 km. Way Sekampung flowed in the District of Tanggamus, Pringsewu, Pesawaran and South Lampung.
Tapis is a women's clothing of Lampung Tribe, it shaped sarong
that made from woven cotton with a toothpick motif or decoration materials, and gold or silver threads with embroidery system (Lampung; "Cucuk"). It becomes typical outfit of Lampung Tribe. It includes traditional craft because the equipment that used in making the base fabric and motives of dressing is still simple and done by craftsmen. Tapis is currently manufactured by craftsmen with decorative diverse as the commodity which has fairly high economic value.
There are so many great things I found in Lampung. Besides it located closest to the Java Island, it also consists of many districts that have a variety of cultural and natural wealth, many natural objects such as mountains and rivers are still natural that will make us more pleasant to enjoy it. Typical outfit (Tapis) that had been used by many communities abroad, especially in Malaysia makes me more proud of Lampung. That’s why I am so in love with my hometown. I hope that Lampung can more develop properly and able to develop all its wealth.
